Announcing SPR’s new logo; Special Pleiades Raiders agree to not incinerate planet.

After more than 50 years of broadcasting under the red, black and blue of our iconic logo, SPR* has finally decided to update its design. We are excited by the change as our redesign better reflects the station we are today and our ongoing commitment to the Superhuman community. That and if we didn’t change it, life on earth would have ceased to exist.
It was brought to our attention two weeks ago that the Special Pleiades Raiders have filed an interstellar legal grievance with SPR over the use of our original logo. The Raiders are a group of independent space pirates that patrol the space lanes between the Pleiades star system and our own.

Their complaint states that SPR's design bears a striking resemblance to the Raiders' flag, which the group has claimed has caused confusion among their enemies. Since the Raiders first formed over a millennia ago, they are claiming the original copyright to the design. SPR’s legal department had initially attempted to settle this in arbitration, however, Captain Xn’th Tryt’hm of the Special Pleiades Raiders countered by bringing their fleet of starships to our solar system and threatening the planet with disintegration unless our network updated our logo within 24 hours.
After a tense ten hours of negotiation, the Raiders have announced their acceptance of our new design, submitted by the teenage nephew of Anna Clark, VP of News. Gary Clark, 14, of Indiana has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for his work on the logo.
